topic Off Topic: Blogging in Operating System - HP-UX

I've been giving some thought recently to jumping on the latest trendy online bandwagon, and starting my own weblog (blogging), baffling though I know it is to expect anyone to be interested in my opinions! Sometimes HPs forums just aren't the place to wax lyrical on some of the subjects dear to my heart, most notably:

HPUX Advocacy
Backup & Recovery
Enterprise Computing Trends - reality vs. marketing
The blurring of IT journalism with vendor FUD

plus many other issues that interest me personally...

I don't really want to manage a website or have to learn too much about any of the standard blog tools which often require some knowledge of apache and/or php, so I'm currently looking around for a good blog hosting company, and have so far really only looked properly at 1 site, which is http://www.squarespace.com/

So I'm interested in whether anyone else on the forums is doing this and how/where they host their blogs...

Any input welcome (and plenty of points of course)...

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

I had a look at all that weblog stuff two years ago and in the end decided for my network documentation ( http://justblog.blogdns.org/network/ ) and alike. After a short thought I ended up using antville on my own server, and I'm still quite happy with it.
It's Java-based and easily moved around, usually it's running on an AS800 cluster, sometimes (right now, for example) on Wintel.
HP-UX kind of came short because my A180 (no 'C' for 'Cache') is a bit too slow.

If You want to, try it out at my site ( http://justblog.blogdns.org that is).
if I hadn't found Antville, I'd probably stick with SixApart (the moveable type thingy, they also offer hosting with what seems very good support).

sorry - today I just keep forgetting to type the words I think. I hope it still was readable for You.
Antville is available via http://project.antville.org
