Hi,

The basic problem is getting the following
error while using Expect on a HP-UX platform.

ioctl error on TIOCREQCHECK: invalid argument

The issue was discussed without resolution
on dbForums, including comment from Don
Libes, author of Expect.

http://dbforums.com/t341728.html

These scripts never have the issue on
Sun SPARC systems, and, until now, ran
well on HP-UX.

My suspicion is that some patch this year
has modified some aspect of the pty interface.

Since my target platform is HP-UX and
cannot be easily swapped for a different
platform, I am stuck running production
scripts on HP-UX. I can really use a
workaround for this problem.

There is a program trace on dbForum. I
hope an HP-UX engineer can take a look at it
and give some feedback.

Thanks
