hi,

my servers are having the following configuration.

OS HPUX11.0
memory 2GB
Database sybase
problem:(for one server is given .all servers are similar problem)
the sybase servers have given/configured a specified amount of shared memory.sybse4 have 500MB and sybase12 have 300MB (output from ipcs -mb)

when the system is running through glance i can see that dataserver owned by sybase4 is taking 136.3 MB and dataserver owned by sybase12 takes 147.1 MB memory.

i want to know is it the memory taken from shared/locked memory by sybase or from the free memory.

if it is taken from free memory what are the processes which may be running on that.

any document related to sybase DB memory utilization will be very helpful

regds,
