topic Emulex device drivers in Operating System - HP-UX

I hope someone can point me in the right direction for this.

We have a single Emulex LP9002 installed in an L-class server running 11i with the 4.20.04 driver from Emulex for HP-UX. If an ioscan is ran the details for the Pseudo HBA are as follows.

ext_bus 8 0/2/0/0.0.0.0 lpfd CLAIMED INTERFACE Pseudo HBA

If I run the /opt/lpfc/bin/lputil and try to list the adapters, nothing is displayed, if I try to look at the link status and try to select an adapter from the "Select adapter", it responds with "Invalid adaptor".

If I run /sbin/init.d/lpfc start I get
cat: Cannot open /dev/lpfc0: No such file or directory.
Looking at /dev the lpfc0 special charater device does not exist.
I have ran the insf -e, but still the device file does not exist.

Can anyone help me here, as I'm begining to bang my head against the preverbial brick wall.
Thanks in advance, Graeme.

This is the Emulex web site for documentation and drivers:

http://www.emulex.com/ts/index_dds.html

But it may be that the card has bit the dust, Best support is to call Emulex:

*  Technical Support: tech.support@emulex.com
* USA Customer Support: repair@emulex.com
* UK Customer Support: services.europe@emulex.com

I used to have a phone number but this was for print servers. So try the above URL.

Also Emulex has a knowledge search
http://Emulex.com  toolbar ->Support -> Knowledgebase
