error loading cde

when loading cde on my b132 i get the msg: cant connect to desktop messenger service.
The only option i get is to quit cde.
Is this a daemon that needs to be running before cde starts?

Hi,

Other than check the document that has been
provided for you, you need to make sure that
your daemon is in fact running. Check the
output from below and the programs that you
should have to start it.

root@myserver [/]
# ll /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc
-r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 3080 Nov 2 1997 /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc

root@myserver [/]
# ll /sbin/rc3.d/S990dtlogin.rc
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root sys 23 Jul 10 1999 /sbin/rc3.d/S990dtlogin.rc -> /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc

root@myserver [/]
# ps -ef |grep dtrc
root 2703 1 0 Oct 28 ? 0:00 /usr/dt/bin/dtrc /usr/dt/bin/dtrc

I would check to make sure you have the hosts file entry correct, (/etc/hosts)
IP_ADDY Fully_qualified_name Alias_name

??

Thanks for the replies, is was a comnbination of daemon and wrong setting in the host file.
The faq was a great help.

Points all round, just need to get my i50 up and running then i'm cooking :)
