Hi,

Anybody ran into this problem?
On a N4000-55 box
with hpux 11.00 : System
paniced and rebooted with
this message in shutdownlog-

***
Reboot after panic: wait_for_lock: Already own this lock!
***

I am working on this with
Hp ( expecting some patch
suggestions from the crash anaylsis results ;-) ).

Question is, did anybody
have this issue on a N-class?
A search on docs showed some
cases, but not of much help.

This is a cluster system.

If HP are already looking at this panic, I would await the results of that analysis. Spinlock panics are not the easiest of dumps to analyse.

Hi Raj,

Seems like you need come patch(es). This problem is due to some network issue.

Do a search for patches using wait_for_lock (exact phrase) for S800, ux 11.0. It list a few patches, you may need some or all of them.

Your system may be having some bad patch or you need to update your patch level. I will not be surprized if you end up replacing one of your processors.

Unfortunately, since the dump was not complete, no clear conclusion could be made on the problem.

But, i will be installing the
latest patch baseline (whole lot of patches in there!) as
suggested by HP. Now, that's what's called a usual story ;-)

Yes, it's a cluster(mc-sg) system. If per chance, any of you ran into a similar error, i would like to hear about it.
