Hi Everyone,

I've been using SAM all this time. I want to use command line to carry out options avaliable on SAM.

Are there any website available that wld guide me to use command line to do these? Better if it is with examples.

Go to docs.hp.com, select your OS version and search for SAM.

I think I didn't phrase my question properly. I actually want to know what command lines can acutally help me carry out the tasks that are available on the SAM. I do not want to use the GUI to carry out the tasks but rather run fr command lines.

Any help out there?

Hi,

you can start by looking at /var/sam/log/samlog. This logfile contains all commands executed from sam. It will give you a good idea how things work on the command line.

Hi,

A good place to start would be to see what
sam actually does. From this you can at
least some ideas. From the sam screen, from
one of the pull-down menus have a look at the
sam log. Also have a look at the System Admin
guide at the following links, this will also
help you see some of the difference between
yusing SAM and the command line.

Hi Clarence,

The command:

/usr/sam/bin/samlog_viewer -l C

is a graphical interface to *some of* the commands that sam has executed.

Have a look at the samlog.log

and your syslog.log

/usr/sam/lbin/samlog
man samlog_viewer for samlog configuration.

./var/sam/log/samlog
for the log.
