Dear Experts,

Root Mail :
Velocis Daemon Error---the daemon is probably not running.

I really do not know which daemon is this & What is this for.....

Any Kind of help is Appreciated.

Hi,

The Velocis Daemon is part of the omniback
suite of daemons that run as part of the
Omniback essential processes. These are the
processes that should be running as part of
OmniBack.

# ps -ef |grep omni
root 10773 25327 0 Sep 26 pts/ta 0:00 /opt/omni/bin/xomni
root 19263 25327 1 15:13:46 pts/ta 0:00 grep omni
root 10763 1 0 Sep 26 ? 0:03 /opt/omni/lbin/mmd
root 10756 1 0 Sep 26 ? 9:04 /opt/omni/lbin/rds -d
root 10764 1 0 Sep 26 ? 0:02 /opt/omni/lbin/crs

The daemon as /opt/omni/lbin/rds -d is obviously not running. Suggest you stop the remainder of omniback and restart it.

# /opt/omni/sbin/omnisv.sh stop
# /opt/omni/sbin/omnisv.sh start

Hello Jaikishan,
This error is related to omniback 3.Did u uninstall or reinstall over it.You may probably close gui and install patch 9(I forgot the patch info).
At command prompt , go to bin directory and issue #omnisv -stop and then #omnisv -start to stop and start internally to see if it clears.

The daemon is called Rima Velocis daemon which is run by Omniback.

Perform the following steps for the same.. as per the link :
