Hi John:

I presume that you want to upgrade to 11.11 (a.k.a "11i") since this is the "next" release following 11.0.

To do this, you will need to order media. Go to Maintenance and Support -> Downloads /Licensing (Updates (software update manager)) -> Updates on Contract.

Regards!

...JRF...

Hi,

I am assuming you are talking about HP-UX 11i??

If so you need to order new media from from the downloads/licensing section select upgrades.

You will need to have your user id connected
with a valid support agreement to continue.

HTH
-Michael

I was a little afraid to go to 11.11. Is it possible to update the C compiler seperately?

If not I guess I'll order the media...

Yes, you can upgrade the HP ANSI/C compiler separately, in fact it has to be installed separately from the HP-UX Applicaitons CDs.

The current versions I found for the ANSI/C compiler for HP-UX 11.0 are B.11.01.20 and B.11.02.02.

The way to go about upgrading to this version, assuming that you purchased it from HP already and have a software support contract covering it, is to either request the media from HP and install it from the CD, or download the software from the ITRC through the Software Update Manager section of the site.

I have not purchased any compiler, but rely on the one that is bundled with HP-UX 11.0. We only use the compiler for Oracle, and until now that has been good enough.

What about the gnu C compiler?

You can get them for free here:

http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Gnu/gcc-3.0/
