Both of these topics are covered in detail in documentation provided
on-line on HP-UX 10.01.

For instructions on how to install patches on HP-UX 10.x, refer to:
/usr/share/doc/patch_pgrm.txt

For a list of which patches are included in HP-UX 10.01, refer to:
/usr/share/doc/sw_patches.txt

Hi Michael:

I'm not sure what instructions you are seeking. When you go to the Patch Database to retrieve a specific patch there are installation instructions at the bottom of the patch text. To see them, click on the patch description or download the patch, unshar it and read the patch text in the .txt file.

An excellent, but lengthy, white paper on patch management is the "Patch Management Guide for HP-UX 11.x (HP-UX 11.0, HP-UX 11i)":

You can download the patches from itrc site.
http://us-support.external.hp.com/wpsl/bin/doc.pl/screen=wpslSrchHPUXpatches/sid=e79907ea05879cc135?OS=HP-UX

The patch is in shar format, unshar it.
#sh PHXX_nnnn
Then you will get installation instructions in PHXX_nnnn.txt file

Hi Michael,

Have a look at these threads. They should be some help. Though each patch may have its own loading instructions which you will find in the patch description when you search for that patch on hp website and it is also available in the text file that is normally bundled with the patch when you download it.

The first one is a pdf and the second is a html link.
