does anyone knows where to find guides or howto.
Neads to install surestore dat 24 on
workstation B132L with HPUX 11.0

or can anyone explain it please

Do not have doc for that. But roughly you will be required to follow following steps.

1. Shutdown system. (you can do online, but may run into lbolt errors and/or system problems.

2. Set correct scsi id for tape drive.

3. Check termination.

4. connect cables. check for connections.

But that parts ok
its more about setting the hpux / cde up
because to makes backup i nead to know what device i nead to rebuild into kernel

You do need to do anything. Just connect the dat24 and reboot the box.

The device files will be created under /dev/rmt dir.

Hello Peter;

If you installed your system with no tape drive connected to it maybe you nedd to insert the driver to the kernel to make the tape works.

Go to SAM -> KERNEL CONFIGURATION -> DRIVERS and insert the "tape2" driver.
Aftre doing this (and of course reboot) you will see your tape as CLAIMED in ioscan and the device files created.

th alot to all people on this amasing site.
that was me first problem was to choose the right driver for kernel rebuild

and now the tape i working fine
and then i only have me old problem that i cannt log into CDE
