1. Insert the tape into your tape drive.
2. reboot your server.
3. Watch on the console until it says 'press any key to stop the boot process'. Press a key.
4. Now you want to boot off the path to the tape drive. You may need to do a SEARCH command to see all your bootable devices to find out the path to the tape drive, unless you know it. Once you know it do;
5. boot
6. then follow the onscreen messages when it boots from the tape. There is a guided menu on how to recover from your tape.

Hi,

You could recover your system with it.
Just boot your system, interrupt the boot, and do search for bootable devices, and point to the tape.

Your system will come up with a recovery install screen.

I have added a zip file with a complete recovery example.

These are a few html files with example.

C.
Hi,
In case of OS corruptions ,U can resotre the server using ignite tape.

1) put it in the tape drive
2) abort the boot process by pressing a key when it says so
3) type "search"
4) notice the P0, P1, P2, etc entry for the tape drive and then issue "bo p1" or whatever.
5) the tape will erase your system and install whatever is on the tape.
