We have a problemm printing from Oracle financials on one of our Unix boxes to a HP 5m laserjet printer.
There is an issue re blank/half pages being printed in the middle of reports - this is to do with sizing as far as I know.
The issue here is that pagethrow character return does not seem to be recognised by the printer.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Paul

Hi there.
Look at the setup fo the report page size in
the FND stuff. The paper size is also in the setup of the printer install ( escape sequences as part of the printout file ).
Rgds
Alexander M. Ermes

Please login to Oracle Applications using "SYSADMIN" user. Then select "System adminitrator" responsibility. Select "Install"/"Printer" The Page Layout is Part of "Style" Function. Every Printer registered in Oracle Application has one "printer type" athached to it. Every Printer Type had multiple combinations of "Print Style" and "Printer Driver" You can find more details while actually going through these screens. You can find more information in "Oracle Application" System Administrator's Guide. Good Luck

another option, which is a fudge rather than a fix, is to buy a blank page supression module from Capella Tech.

We have an application here (not an oracle based one) that used to print on lexmark printers. Unfortunately, lexmark printers have a "supress blank pages" option. Unfortunately HP's don't. As it's too costly to actually go through huge amounts of code and fix the problem, a blank page supression module for HP printers is a cheaper way for us.

There are a number of us here who would prefer to see our lazy programmers actually fix this problem, but at the end of the day, our business does not understand fully what we're talking about. They just say "but it used to work" and "so the HP printers are not as good" and so on.

As always, when it came down to it, it's cheaper to just buy the module.

Scott.
