I am new to the Unix world and I am trying to upgrade an old server as a test before we upgrade our production servers, when I start the upgrade to 11i v1 it goes for a little while and then fails and this is the error I see in the swagentd.log

NOTE: The fileset "SW-GETTOOLS.SD-SUPPORT,r=B.11.11.0406" is already
installed. If you wish to reinstall this fileset, change the
"reinstall" option to "true".
* Reading source for file information.
ERROR:   File "/var/tmp/BAAa08837/catalog/SOE/SOE-ENG-A-MAN/INFO" does
not exist.
ERROR: The catalog files for product "SOE,r=B.11.11" failed to load.
Check the above output for details.
ERROR: Cannot continue the Analysis Phase until the previous errors
are corrected.

======= 09/15/04 14:11:39 PDT END install AGENT SESSION (Canceled)
(pid=8837)

I have gotten 3 times in a row now. I even tried interactive install and it the same thing, I am doing the upgrade from the June 04 CD and can't find anything helpful on the site.
There isn't anything in the /var/tmp directory with that name and cold install isn't an option for us.

Nope that didn't do it same error. Here is what I see on the main screen not the log file.

ERROR:   The command: '/usr/sbin/swinstall -p -C
/var/adm/sw/tmp/update-ux/tempfile -s /cdrom -x autoreboot=true -x
os_name=HP-UX:32 -x os_release=B.11.11 -x match_target=true -x
autoselect_patches=true -x enforce_dsa=false -x enforce_scripts=false
-x enforce_dependencies=false -x allow_downdate=true' failed. Output
follows:
ERROR: "coeuru:/": This target agent cannot access the source. Make
sure the source depot is registered if it is remote from the
target or if you are non-superuser. Also ensure you have read
permission for the products on the source, the source is not
being updated, and swagentd is running on the source host.
The target agent logfile will contain precise failure
information; it is referenced below.
For more information, see /var/adm/sw/swagent.log
NOTE: One or more errors encountered. Take appropriate corrective action
and re-run update-ux to complete the update.

=======  Fri Sep 17 14:36:07 PDT 2004 END update-ux

I used the ones right out of the book, the update command

update-ux -s /cdrom HPUX11i-OE-Ent

the only swinstall command was the one to install update-ux

swinstall -r -s /cdrom Update-UX \
\@ /var/adm/sw/update-ux.root 2> /dev/null

I also tried this and the -i option and I always get to same point and fail.
update-ux -s /cdrom -x reinstall=true HPUX11i-OE-Ent

Even though you are using different dated media, the error is the same and was addressed by the RockRidge patches.

The system is still at 11.00, so apply the patches and try the upgrade again.

www.hp.com/softwarereleases/ releases-media2/notices/dvd_errors.pdf

PHKL_28060 s700_800 11.00 Y2k; Rock Ridge extension for ISO-9660
PHKL_26450 s700_800 11.00 Rock Ridge extension for ISO-9660
PHCO_26449 s700_800 11.00 Add Rock Ridge extension to mount_cdfs(1M)
