TKB Technical knowledge base ......

I don't think all docs listed as Customer Viewable are .... HP is endeavoring to address this .... in the meantime :

HP Security Class: Customer Viewable User Doc ID: A4391480 [A4391480/TRAK/English] Doc Type: RCEN
OV SNMP: eased2 ... File I/O failed when running eased2
Quality Score: 0 Number of Times Rated: 0 Date Certified: 19970903 Document Info
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Problem Description

When I run eased2, the following error displays:

eased2 ... File I/O failed

What is causing this error?

Configuration Info

Operating System - HP-UX
Version -9.01
Hardware System -735

Solution

The reason for the error is the file /usr/HPEASE/config/eased2.dat
has become corrupted.

The solution is to copy a previously saved copy over it. Copies can
be found under:

/usr/HPEASE/hours.db/1995xx/yy/01/

where

xx is the month
yy is the day of month

KEYWORD LIST

btw this is an old DOC O/S = 9.01 are you sure this is relevant to your problem ?

ps it's nice to see someone using the TKB to help themselves .... keep up the good work !!!

No if I'm perfectly honest I'd never heard of eased2 until your post. I'm also struggling to find any up to date info on how to trouble-shoot such an error within HP ?

Can anyone else help shed some light on this ?
