Shutdown log

Hi,
I have noticed that when I shutdown a k570
HP 9000 800 Series server running HP-UX 11.0, using the command "shutdown -ry now", the shutdown K -scripts are not logged to rc.log.log. Any idea why? I only see the startup script logs.

The shutdown script output from your last reboot (shutdown -r) should be in the rc.log.old file. The rc.log will contain the information from the initialization of all scripts.

Hi,
the rc.log will be having information starting from the boot time. since you are issuing the shutdown before actually going down it will be recorded in rc.log.old.
shutdownlog will be having information when the machine rebooted and by whom.

The shutdownlog also will have information such as if the system shutdown due to a panic.
