Hi All,

Do we require some particular driver to print pdf files on a laterjet printer from unix workstation.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi Ricky,

Firstly you will need a copy of Adobe's Acrobat Reader for HP-UX - available from http://www.adobe.com

You'll also need to have your LaserJet configured to print from thw workstation - this setup will vary depending on how the printer is connected. There are many documents on http://docs.hp.com that cover printer setup.

You have to install Acrobat or the public domain software ghostscript in order to convert a PDF test in a postscript one.

The printer is already configured to print thru this workstation, it prints text files but gives problem to pdf files.Acrobat reader is also installed.

Can you tell me the syntax to submit the pdf files for printing.

Are you trying print from Arcobat reader GUI or direct from lp command "lp -d ". The later is not possible direct, you need to write a printer interface script with a pdf filter (perhaps gostscript can be used).

Hi,
It is not possible to print a PDF file to laserjet printer through lp command. You can convert PDF to postscript file and print.
