Use setboot -p to set the primary path to the hw path of your cd-rom device. This is the quick and dirty method...

Have you tried pressing CTRL+B while the machine's booting up?

Vincent

Hi,

We have a C-class machine running HP-UX 10.20 in X mode. At the moment I have to reinstall the entire OS in the machine since it is going to be used for other operations.

My problem is that once I restart the machine so that I can boot it from the CD. It bypasses the Config menu option and goes on and boots from the HDD. I have disabled Autoboot and Autosearch, but it does not give me the option to go into the config menu area.

Can somebody help me out.

Joe

not sure if applicable to c-class.... but could someone have set secure mode to on : if so ...

You'll have to shut the system down disconnect the system from the disk and the LAN and reboot. Since there is no boot device, you can then get into boot admin mode and turn secure off, shut the system down
connect the system to the disk and the LAN and reboot.
