Release 11.0 on rp7410

I was told 11.0 is supported on the rp7400 does this also apply to the 7410 or is it only 11i....I know I've asked this before but just want to verify, if our application runs on 11.0 should it run on 11i without any problems?? do I need to recompile etc...

Hi Nigel,

11.0 is supported on the 7410 but not recommended as you'll lose the N-Par capability which is only supported in 11i I believe.

And yes chance is VERY high the app will be just fine on 11i w/o having to recompile.

Your 11.0 application should run just fine on 11.11. In fact almost all 10.20 appliucations will run on 11.11. The converse, however, is not true so any of your development should be done on the 11.0 box.

Actually there is a difference in the architecture between 7410 and 7400. that is why hp-ux 11.00 is not recomended for the 7410. It is supported by 11i only. It is having the concept of cell board like superdome.

The RP7410 (a.k.a Matterhorn) is not the same as a RP7400, and in fact there are some very large differences.
As a result HP-UX 11.00 is NOT supported on the RP7410, only HP-UX 11i and up.
The RP7400 on hte ohter hand does support HP-UX 11.00

Although I believe that 11.0 runs on it - it's obviously not supported by HP.
