Difference between 9.2.0.1.0 and 9.2.0.4

Hi,
What is the difference between oracle versions 9.2.0.1 and 9.2.0.4 .
What does each number in the version stands for ?
Moreover I had installed 9.2.0.1 in HP UX , and I want to upgrade it to 9.2.0.5, From where can I get the patch???

hi,
9.2.0.0 is the base release
9.2.0.1 is the base release with patchset 1
...
9.2.0.1 is the base release with patchset 4
9.2.0.1 is the base release with patchset 5

so to get to 9.2.0.5, you must install patchset 5 which is available from Metalink.

But one more clarification can we use same patch for upgrading both 9.2.0.1 and 9.2.0.4 to 9.2.0.5 Can u sent me the url of the site from which I can download it.

patches can be found on metalink.oracle.com

you can indeed use patch 9.2.0.5 to patch all 9.2.x versions.

There are some pretty serious java functionality issues in the unpatched release of that databse.

We're currently pretty stable with v 9.2.0.4 but have one outstanding issue that may force us to 9.2.0.5

I would not run production on the lower version.
