Kevin,

After you boot off the CD and start the install process, the 32 and 64 bit verions of the OS will be listed for you to choose from (as I recall).

Pete

Hi,

It depends on what you need for your applications, and also on the hardware you are installing on. If you are going to run something like Oracle 8.x, you'll probably want 64 bit. Be sure you make the right decision. We loaded an 11.00 box this summer and one of our guys chose 32 bit instead of 64 bit, and we needed to run Oracle 8. We wound up having to reload the OS and start all over.

JP
Depending upon the platform, you may not be given the chance to choose. Not all platforms support 64-bit 11x. Those that do allow you to choose early in the install process.

HI:

When you run Ignite, using the Core OS CDROM, you choose Install HHP-UX/Media Only. Then select the "Advanced Installation" tab. On the 'Basic' or "Software' tab you will find a choice for either 32-bit or 64-bit mode.

Make sure that your system supports 64-bit mode first.

Regards!

...JRF...
