topic xdmcp timeout in Operating System - HP-UX

All clients are timing out today when trying to establish a CDE session on an Itanium machine (11.23). AFAIK, this issue is new today (certain users connect this way).

I've done extensive research on this issue so far, and cannot seem to figure it out. I've perused the previous issues here where the Reflection X (RX21012) error has occurred, and none of the solutions have helped.

1. dtlogin is running
2. hostnames are resolvable forward and reverse on client and server
3. tcpdump shows request and response on udp port 177 on server running dtlogin
4. server can connect to client on tcp port 6000
5. perl test scripts can send and receive data on udp port 177 between client and server
6. Xerrors file in /var/dt shows nothing
7. Syslog shows nothing

I would welcome any assistance. Thanks.

Hi,

Did you try reverse lookup on hostname and ip address ?

Regards,
Robert-Jan

Thanks for your response. I did do forward and reverse lookups on both machines (item 2 above), no problems.
