    <description>Pat,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  uncompress will not remove the compressed file until it is done with the uncompress !.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  Did you manually remove .Z version  ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  anyway to recover the compressed version ? - afraid not - the only way I can think of is from the backup.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-- Sundar</description>

      <description>During a mass uncompress, the filesystem filled up and aborted the uncompress.  I am now left with a file, I presume the file it was working on when the filesystem filled up, that is not completely uncompressed yet the .Z version was deleted.  Is there any way to recover the compressed version?  I really need this because it's an Oracle log, right in the middle of my range to recover !!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>No, i did not manually remove the .Z and unfortunately, no backup of these logs yet (they were generated this morning).</description>

      <description>I also agree with sundar, the .Z file is not normally removed until the file is fully uncompressed and usualy the file being uncompressed will disappear.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hope this helps&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
