Hello Craig,

if I remember right, there was a french hp supporter,
who had set up a mail-server, which responded upon
your "swlist" output as mail body with the list of
currently available patches for your system (I read
about it here or on the HPADM mailing list) - hence,
if your patch is NOT included any more, it is "gone"...

HTH,
Wodisch

Ok SA's here is a good one.

I have a list of patches that I would like to check for suprecedes and current levels 1, 2 or 3.
I know that I can send a list to the support center and they will run the list and tell me the best patch to use.
I want to do this myself without looking up each individual patch.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Craig

Craig,

There is no way that I know of to get the supersede info for just a list of patches. The closes thing I can think of on the ITRC is the Custom Patch Manager. This allows you to upload configuration information about your machine to the ITRC and it will do an analysis and recommend all the latest patches, and their dependencies, to install on your system.

Here is the link to CPM:
http://us-support.external.hp.com/wps/bin/doc.pl/sid=9c50eb0f18b102f323

Patrick,

Thanks for the reply. I thought that was going to be the case. If any hp folks are watching, this function sure would be nice to have on the ITRC. There are times I would like to be able to create my own custom patch bundle and use different levels of patches in the bundle.

I have used the custom patch manager and it does work very well. It just needs to be expanded.

Take care,

Craig
