Oracle9i installation

Hi,

Is there any patch required for oracle9i installation on HP 11.x.
I am not able to complete the installation successfully even after 3 atempts.

Always it fails while creating the database at the end of the installation part.

Hi Sreejith

Install latest available QPK patch bundle(available in support plus media) that should suffice patch requirement for oracle.

you should have got error(s) while linking hence the DB creation process fails.

Attached are the documents that aids in quick start of oracle 9i installation on HP-UX 11.x and patch levels required.

When you say it fails while creating the database, that errors are you experiencing. Did you check the installation logs for more details.

hi,

also found the following note in metalink:

fact: Oracle Universal Installer 9.2.0.1
fact: HP 9000 Series HP-UX (64-bit)
symptom: Installation fails
symptom: Exception in thread "main"java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
symptom: libmawt.sl: no such file or directory
cause: The software installation from CD part# A91857-01 and A91860-01
fails with the following error: ../jre/lib/PA_RISC2.0/libmawt.sl: No such file or directory

because on that CD-PACK was missing the library.

fix:

Obtain the following CDs by making new shipping request:
CD-PACK A99108-01 (Part#A99149-01 - A99152-01) replaced.
The new/correct version of the release
Released on 21-June-2002

OR

Workaround: copy the library 'libmawt.sl' from the HP site and place it into the location that fails.
