A K-Class and a C-Class both have the same UNIX, HP-UX. Therefor, as long as the UPS Monitor software runs on your OS (10.20/11.0/11i) it makes no difference between a K or D or B class machine!

The problem you may have is finding the software for the UPS on HP-UX XX.X? Most older software allowed a single command to be executed at power failure. I would recommend you create a script which shuts down the DB, and performs a proper shutdown, and call that from your UPS Manager!

Regards,
Shannon

you can create a script to the init processes, so when system goes down it automatically shutdown your listener and the database.

It is very possible. Connect all the terminal/monitor cables to the server and install the software, then configure the port through SAM
