The nameserver Daemon fails on boot everytime. Nsswitch.conf and resolv.conf is configured properly. help!!

Hi,

Check if /etc/rc.config.d/namesvrs file has 0 infront of named.
NAMED=1 This will take care of starting dameon during boot.

sig_named restart would restart the daemon.

When you say it fails on boot do you mean when you reboot the server? Check
/etc/rc.log
and look for errors.
What happeneds if you try to start it from the command line? Check your syslog for errors..
