Hi

Some one can help me, through the operator menu, I created restricted sam to reboot the system. Command line I used /sbin/shutdown -r now. It is not working masage says that
[ Shutdown cannot be run from a mounted file system -- exiting shutdown
Change directories to the root volume ("/" will work) and try again.

Press to continue sam...

Hi,

I do not use sam -r, but you could try to cd to / before you start sam.

There is /etc/shutdown.allow file, if you add the name of the user, he can shutdown -r now from the command line.

You seems to running command when cetain files systems are mounted and being used.

Just go to root file system and ensure that files system are not in use and run the command again.

Hi,

You must ensure be into root File System before excute shutdown command. Try creating a test user with a home dir placed into root FS. Remember add this user into shutdown.allow file.

shutdown -r

As others have said - cd / :

cd / ; sbin/shutdown -r now
