Hi all,

I have a question about HP server.
I have two servers. Those are not the same model but they have the same cards:

One model is 9000/800/A500-44
0/0/1/0 c720 SCSI C896 Ultra Wide LVD
0/0/1/1 c720 SCSI C896 Ultra Wide Single-Ended
0/0/2/0 c720 SCSI C875 Fast Wide Single-Ended
0/0/2/1 c720 SCSI C875 Ultra Wide Single-Ended
0/0/4/0 asio0 Service Processor (3 ports)
0/0/5/0 asio0 Service Processor (1 port)

Another is 9000/800/A400-44
0/0/1/0 c720 SCSI C896 Ultra Wide LVD
0/0/1/1 c720 SCSI C896 Ultra Wide Single-Ended
0/0/2/0 c720 SCSI C875 Fast Wide Single-Ended
0/0/2/1 c720 SCSI C875 Ultra Wide Single-Ended
0/0/4/0 asio0 Service Processor (3 ports)
0/0/5/0 asio0 Service Processor (1 port)

Are they the same? Or what are the difference between those models?

A400 is 150 MHZ processor
A500 is 200 MHZ processor

In addition to above
rp24xx servers have a total of 4 PCI I/O slots. Slot 1 is short slot, located outside the I/O card cage, connected to the back of the I/O Backplane.Slots 2 through 4 are located inside the I/O card cage. Slots 1 and 2 are Twin.
Turbo slots; slots 3 and 4 are Turbo slots
â ¢ Slots 1 and 2 are Twin Turbo slots. Each Twin Turbo slot has a dedicated PCI bus and supports 32 and
64-bit PCI cards.
â ¢ Slots 3 and 4 are Turbo slots. They share a single PCI bus and support 32 and 64-bit PCI cards.
A400 servers have access to slots 1 and 2 only. A500 servers have access to all four slots.

Alex,

The A400 has one 440 MHz PA8500 CPU, max 2GB RAM, max 2 PCI I/O cards. The A500 has max 2 440 MHz PA8500 or 550 MHz PA8600 CPU, max 8GB RAM, max 4 PCI I/O cards.

John is wrong. I /think/ both are 440 MHz CPU's
My A500-5X here is a 550 MHz CPU

Both are 440 Mhz CPU's.

The main difference between them is to have more hardware resources.

A400 maximum capacity 1CPU,2GB RAM
A500 max. capacity 2 CPU,8GB RAM

Those are from the e3000 series, not HP 9000.
Never heard of the e3000 btw.

That the search doesn't find them, might be because they are not available anymore. Thery're now called rp24xx (rp2430, rp2450, rp2470)
