    <description>hostname resolution problems .... CDE doesn't recognise your IP or hostname that's why X starts only, its defaulting to local:0 as opposed to hostname:0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try rebooting the box or init 2 , init 3 to restart CDE's dtlogin.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If this fails check hostname resolution ip &amp;amp; hostname in /etc/hosts, nsswitch.conf etc etc</description>

      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Has anyone any ideas about the following problem?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;H/W: 712/100&lt;BR /&gt;OS: 10.20 Custom build&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Friday box running fine, no problems.&lt;BR /&gt;Friday night IP address change due to network reconfig.  Changed IP with /etc/set_parms ip_address.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Monday morning instead of CDE login screen, "welcome to xxxx" have got grey screen with "X" cursor.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Only error messages I can find is "Server open attempt #1 failed for dlnhp10:0, giving up"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any ideas, its driving me mad.</description>

      <description>Alex,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Nice one mate.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We resolved this just as you answered.  FYI The machine was binding to a newly installed, (over the weekend), ypserver which had outdated version of the yp maps on it.  Once we had ypxfr'd the maps over and restarted up it came.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You'll be pleased to know this won't affect your points assignment!!!&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
