dmisp consuming all CPU resources

Hello,

I am facing a strange problem on my L1000 running HP-UX B.11.00; when I am issuing a "top", I can see process dmisp consuming about 99% CPU !! What is this process ? How can I resolve this problem, as it is slowing down all other apps ?

I had never heard of this...so I was intrigued and started looking. Found sites where folks were having troubles with it..but still nothing on what it is..Then I found that dmisp is part of the DMI (Desktop Management Interface).

Hello Brian,

For more information about DMI, you can go and have a look at the following URL:
http://www.software.hp.com/products/DMI

There is a Troubleshooting guide under the "information library" submenu.

I have looked at some of my 11.X systems, and there is effectively a dmisp process (not consuming that much of CPU resources though), which seems to be part of the DCE kernel threads package. I installed this package because it was a prerequisite of Software Control Manager.
