    <description>OK what exactly are you aiming for ? to start CDE locally on the HP9000 or to run remote CDE logins from a PC Client or xterminal : please detail s/w involved together with H/W.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The last 2 files that are listed as missing are suggesting to me your patch level wrt CDE is not current ... they can be ignored ... the inetd.sec maybe relevant.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the 9000 is a server without a graphics head/card check dtlogin is running ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are you certain the 9000 and any remote pc's or xterminals involved here can resolve each other hostnames and ip addresses ? &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is DNS , routers or firewalls involved at all.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If XDM is not working what results are you seeing then ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check also in /var/dt/Xerrors ....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;awaiting details .....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>xdm don't work on a HP9000&lt;BR /&gt;I have used dr_dt script and i have 3 warnings.&lt;BR /&gt;3 files miss &lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/inetd.sec&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/dt/bin/xmbind&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/dt/bin/suid_exec&lt;BR /&gt;On another HP9000 i don't have these files but xdm works !!&lt;BR /&gt;I don't understand.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Just try doing a &lt;BR /&gt;#/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -e&lt;BR /&gt;#/sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If still does not work then &lt;BR /&gt;check your /var/dt/Xerrors&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>#ioscan -fnC graphics&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;just check whether the graphics card is there and is in CLAIMED state.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note:please do not assign 8-10 points which does not resolve your problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;8-10 points are only given for magical answers.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Revert</description>

      <description>check for the latest CDE patches&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/patchDocDisplay.do?patchId=PHSS_27427" target="_blank"&gt;http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/patchDocDisplay.do?patchId=PHSS_27427&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;which should remove the xmbind and suid_exec warning messages.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
