I have a few questions.

1. You don't count business forum in the total any more?
2. The almost category is new head - 10%?
3. How do you calculate point average?

The point avg of Stefan Farrelly seems somewhat impossible to me. ;-)

I summ all "total"'s If it misses, it is either a glitch (network unreachable), or maybe that the user did not collect points in the hp-ux section, which I take as base to see if there is an increase

No. I've explained this before, I'm sure (scan the hist threads), and still have to write a doc to explain the stats, but that's not a job I'm looking forward to.

The almost category is: 1. Member must have posted recently (within th past month). 2 Member is in a fixed margin:

thanks for the explanation on the "almost" algorithm, I did wonder how you managed to keep
Mr. Wyckoff out of the almost royalty list for a while already.

One thing I did notice in the code snippet you posted is the "Frantic" category at 40000+ points. Is this something we've got to see on the official hats list soon or have you just made that up for yourself?

well, I think a good developer needs quite a bit of imagination, so please go ahead and imagine further statistics for us all to enjoy.

Maybe hp should take a clue from you and introduce a new hat above the 20k points. I could imagine a space helmet would be appropriate since the air is that thin up there ;-)
