I am reinstalling Oracle on our backup system and I get this error whenever I run the Installer.

"Initializing Java Virtual machine, stage/components/oracle/swd/jre/1.1.7/Datafiles/Expanded/jre/hpunix/bin/jre please wait....
Error in create OUI process () -1

I followed the directions from the manual as well as the Oracle help page. Mainly the following:
1. Created oracle and oinstall user and group as well as dba.
2. Created u01,u02, u03 directory.
3. Set environment.
4. Check kernel parameter.
5. Modify permission.

Please let me know if you know what this error is. Everything on the Oracle website is not helpful.

hi ,

Have you installed all the patches required for oracle in the system ?. This could be the problem...

i agree , i search for this error and its oracle error .
didnt found how to fix it but i recommend to install the oracle patches :
