kernel patch bundle not installing..

hi,

I download the patches as a group patches.zip

unzip patches.zip

#create_depot_hp-ux_11 -d /tmp/kernel.depot

whenever i installing the patch i am getting the following error message

DEPOT: /tmp/kernel.depot
BUNDLE: BUNDLE
TITLE: Patch bundle
UNSHAR: y
PSF: depot.psf
Expanding patch shar files...
ERROR: Shar file not found for patch PHKL_xxxx

list of SD installable patches =
No valid SD installable patch found. Exiting ...

Help me..

Shankar,

try the ftp method - download the ftpscript and run it from your machine as a script. Your machine must be able to cantact the internet - much better method.

First, did the file unzip correctly? If it did then try running the create_depot script without any arguments. I have found that sometimes the script runs better if you just let it run with all the defaults.

# ./create_depot_hp-ux_11

And see what happens. If it is successful it should create a directory called 'depot'. You can then 'mv depot kernel.depot' if you like.

Also note that this isn't installing anything. It is just creating the depot that can be installed via the swinstall command.

This is always the result of incomplete download.

It can also occur if you download the patch to a PC and then ftp it ascii when its binary and vice versa.

the ftp scripting usually fixes that.

You may need to log a call with HP or your ISP to resolve.

The error look like, req. files are not found.

*) Could plz list the files extracted from patches.zip

*)Try downloading from FTP site - as binary
: confirm the size of file, after download is that same ???? (frm site)

*) As patrick said, try with default - It shold go thru.
