Mozilla 1.4 is the currently support browser on HP-UX. Netscape in all forms is not supported.

You can obtain Mozilla 1.4 for HP-UX 11.* here:

http://www.hp.com/go/mozilla

As far as your problem with Netscape, there isn't a whole lot we can do besides guess. Netscape is delivered stripped, thus rendering core files next to useless.

Since Netscape 7.x is based on early versions of Mozilla, Mozilla information might be useful.
Hi,

I had installed Netscape 7.0 on my w/s. Thereafter I invoked netscape with root previliges. Then I logged in as admin and it asked me to create a profile. During creation of file there was a option to choose a folder.
I clicked and a window opened.
There was a checkbox "show hidden files and directories" . As I tried to check it, whole netscape collapsed with the following error:
./run-mozilla.sh[38]: 8091 Bus error

Does anyone knows why is this happening???

Also I am not able to create profile as even if I click finish after giving name to the profile, it does no activity. This happens if root profile is already there.
IF I have default profile then I am able to create profiles.
Can someone shed some light as to when root and default profiles will be created and clear the confusion???

Regards,
Pankaj

Regards,
Pankaj

bus error just means netscape crashed.

Nothing to worry about unless it happens a lot.

It can happen because patches are missing, or from bad java programs. Almost anything.

I do try and use edit preferences in netscape and mozilla to direct cache and other files away from the root filesystem. Thats good practice(in my not so humble opinion).

SEP
