I've recently startup using Mozilla v1.4 instead of Netscape v4.67, once running it performs really well, BUT it can take 10mins to startup?! whereas Netscape took seconds.

During the load the mozilla-bin process can be observed, using top, using less than 1% of the CPU... This obviously worse following a reboot, but even rerunning it then can take 5mins....

swlist attached, but it is not isolated to this machine!
Any ideas, anyone??

Cheers
Russ

mozilla is a pretty intensive program. On the rp5450 server i am posting from it commonly uses most of the cpu cycles.

I'm attaching the latest version of my performance monitoring scripts(originally from hp). They run background and you should run them for 15-30 minutes of data and then crank mozilla

You may find you need to make some changes, perhaps kernel parameters.

SEP
