      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am not sure what you mean but. If you use the insf command device files are created. The instance number ( in case of a disk) is the c&lt;INSTANCENR&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Gideon&lt;/INSTANCENR&gt;</description>

      <description>A good reason to change instance numbers is to copy the configuration of one server onto an other. It is easier if the cards have the same instance numbers on both machines. Sometimes the automatic assigning of those will give different numbers, for whatever reason, so you want to change them.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This can be done with ioinit (permanently) or ioscan (untill a reboot).</description>
