I upgraded my N Class from 2 cpu to 4 cpu, which kernel param I need to adjust after that? I am looking for general params. Thanks.
Victor,

I did upgrade my systems may times but I never thought of tweaking kernel parameters. In my view, you don't need to worry about it.

-Sri

I don't think that you need any kernel parameter change after CPU upgrade. If your application is multi-threaded it will take up automatically. Look at glance/top whether the system is using all of the CPU or not.

Sandip

Hi Victor:

There is no need to tune the kernel parameters after upgrading the CPUs. If you increase memory or swap then you may need to. After upgrade you can observe the performance and find out if anything wrong in resource usage. You can plan the kernel tuning accordingly.

HTH,
Shiju

As far as I know there are no kernel parameters that need to be updated why you add CPUs.

As long as the system sees the CPUs when you boot the machine, you will be OK.
