We loaded the patch to correct the "identd: remote owner request failed" We received the following errors. Generating module: krm...

Loading the kernel...
ld: Unsatisfied symbol "streams_peekuio" in file /usr/conf/lib/libuipc.a[uipc_socket.o]
ld: Unsatisfied symbol "sqcanput" in file /usr/conf/lib/libinet.a[tcp.o]
2 errors.
*** Error exit code 1

Any assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

Hi,

Did you by accident use the reinstall=true option ?

It definitly looks like it !

Do you have a Ignite tape available from just before the patch installation ?
If all this is the case you might have to recover your system with this.

Might be that it is from earlier patch installation, where PHKL_18543 was reinstalled.

Check in your swagent.log file.

This patch has 3 dependences :-
PHKL_21857 PHKL_22142 PHNE_22566
Installed these dependencies patches and your problem will go away. PHNE_22566 is the one that you must installed or it'll give you the "unsatisfied symbols error".

Dependencies are:

PHCO_21187 cumulative SAM/ObAM patch
PHCO_23651 fsck_vxfs(1M) cumulative patch
PHKL_18543 M/VM/UFS/async/scsi/io/DMAPI/JFS/perf patch
PHKL_20016 2nd CPU not recognized in G70/H70/I70
PHKL_22840 IDS/9000; syscalls related to file/socket
PHKL_24027 VxFS 3.1 cumulative patch
PHKL_25475 PM cumulative patch
PHKL_25525 Probe,IDDS,PM,VM,PA-8700,asyncio,T600,FS
PHNE_22566 Cumulative STREAMS Patch

Might be you are missing some of this.
But as you see there is also PHKL_18543 in it.
Check if you used the reinstall=true option.
If so, you will have to reinstall/recover !

We appreciate your assistance and we are looking at all dependencies. We look at the patch text file prior to loading the patch and it say that no dependencies were required. We experience a problem with PHKL_18543 on another server that did not process 18543 correctly. We will keep you posted. Thank you again.

HI,

Probably PHKL_18543 will be on the system already.
But I experienced lot's of trouble if this patch is reinstalled.
This as most of all patches heas this one as a dependency.
If not to big post your swagent.log file here.
I will have a look at it if similar issues are experienced.
