    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I want to do a bdf but I get :&lt;BR /&gt;bdf Cannot open /etc/mnttab Permission denied&lt;BR /&gt;If I do : &lt;BR /&gt;# strings mnttab , I get :&lt;BR /&gt;server:(pid709) /net ignore defaults 0 0 1067886097&lt;BR /&gt;server:/cdrom /cdrom nfs ro,nointr,retrans=3,timeo=7,wsize=2048 0 0 1067937258&lt;BR /&gt;I don't understand why I get nfs file system for /cdrom&lt;BR /&gt;It is not possible to umount /cdrom or cd /cdrom, I get :&lt;BR /&gt;NFS server not responding still trying&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If I stop nfs.server, I have always the problem.&lt;BR /&gt;I use sam to stop NFS server --&amp;gt;OK but NFS client --&amp;gt; No good.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you have any idea !&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;Laurent&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>This shows you are doing a NFS mount of the /cdrom from a server to this server which is unavailable.&lt;BR /&gt;To fix mount the cdrom back in the source server or reboot this server.&lt;BR /&gt;alos other thing you could try if it complains about permission of /etc/mnttab&lt;BR /&gt;delete the /etc/mnttab and do mount -a&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note: dont do the last step if the node is part of service guard.</description>

      <description>Could it be that your bdf comes from a NFS mounted filesystem ?&lt;BR /&gt;bdf has a setuid bit on it. And since bdf complains /etc/mnttab is not readable, while you can open it using strings without a problem, something is wrong with bdf's permissions. Having it on a NFS mounted filesystem without root permissions could cause this behaviour...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As for the cdrom: I think you have the automounter running. And that works through NFS, normally.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So you have 2 problems: bdf is not working correctly and your NFS client has a problem.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
