Hello!

Didn't heard that HP give this thing
but you have open source that you can compile
and check on your hp but it may be a problem in the end because it may use some specific
things that hpux kernel not suport.

Caesar

Hi,
if the purpose is to save relevant information in a cripted way, i will suggest to crypt the single file.

Otherwise you will also have to invent a way to backup such a crypted FS, and AFAIK OB or other commercial product have not this facility.

You have the crypt command in HPUX, but many others can be found for free.

Check at

http://hpux.connect.org.uk/

HTH,
Massimo
I believe there are storage appliances that can "crypt" your data on disk. If you are worried about someone stealing your disk drives, then hire a rent-a-cop :-)))))

Any (I don't know any that aren't slow) cryptographic solution will cause performance issues. And of course the data will have to be "translated" somewhere, and that somewhere will be your weakest link. For example if a disk appliance stores the data in a cryptic manner and then decrypts it for you when you retreive it, then the IO bus is the weakest link.

The best bet is application security and keeping people OUT of shell prompts!

live free or die
harry
