    <description>I did a patch upgrade. And the user is unable to compile perl programs.       <description>I've uprgraded perl a few times and never got anything like this.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please take the following steps and I will suggest a course of action:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) Specify the patch you installed.&lt;BR /&gt;2) If it was a swinstall patch, look at the installation log.  You will probably see an error that will help you solve the problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pending that data, you might think about backing the patch out with swremove.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps.</description>

      <description>perl-5.004_01?????&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any chance in getting 5.6.1 or 5.8.0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyway, check the file type and access rights of /usr/local/lib/perl5/PA-RISC2.0/5.00401/auto/IO/IO.sl&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What processor do you have? This is a pa-risc-2.0 port, which will probably do things like above on a 1.1 arch&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;does '/usr/local/bin/perl -V' work? (that's a capital V)</description>
