      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Have a new HP-UX RP5430 with HP-UX 11.00 and Jetdirect software.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I want to create a dummy printer, e.g. test_1 to /dev/nulll ??&lt;BR /&gt;(because some log prints come now at my default printer)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Does someone know how ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Geert</description>

      <description>The method I used:&lt;BR /&gt;sam &amp;gt; Printers and Plotters &amp;gt; LP Spooler &amp;gt; Printers and Plotters &amp;gt; Action (from menu) &amp;gt; Add Remote Printer/Plotter......(menu item) &amp;gt; &lt;BR /&gt;and fill in the required details, for example,&lt;BR /&gt;Name                 pt_eng_501    &lt;BR /&gt;Type                 remote            &lt;BR /&gt;Enabled To Print     yes, idle          &lt;BR /&gt;Accepting Requests   yes       &lt;BR /&gt;Location             LPT1 on ps-eng-501 &lt;BR /&gt;Fence Priority       0       &lt;BR /&gt;Class                  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(pt_eng_501: dump print queue name;&lt;BR /&gt;ps-eng-501: hostname or ip is ok)</description>

      <description>Youre going to have to modify the printer driver script to do this. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Setup a printer as a remote printer (to an ip or another server/queue). Then modify the driver in /var/spool/lp/interface/&lt;QUEUENAME&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Change the rlp line almost at the bottom, comment it out, and it wont get to the print queue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I think its much easier to create a print queue, disable it, then print to it (but it wont print), then cancel the print job.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/QUEUENAME&gt;</description>
