topic cannot install any software in Operating System - HP-UX

I am having trouble installing software.
When I try - I get the error message :
Failed to initialise this agent.
Make sure the agent program exists on the host and can be executed.

I understand that this is because the network card is not installed properly (which is why I need to install software in the first place.)
I have tried setting the hostname ip address to 127.0.0.1 - but unforunately, I am still getting this error message.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi Terry,

if the above suggestions don't work and even after the restart of the swagentd the swinstall is still complaining, try to do a "health-check" on your network.

See if nslookup on hostname and ip resolve correctly. Make sure that if used DNS/NIS is working properly. The software distributor is very sensitive towards network misconfigurations.

Steffi Jones
