If you are trying to use the DLT8000 on an HP-PB style card, thius will not work at all.
You need to use an HSC style card.
Then al you need are the normal card and tape drivers to use the tape.

I'm using a FC card to connect the box to the DLT, I ask what driver should I use because in other HP box I have STAPE controlling the DLT, and it's working fine, in the other box TAPE2 is controlling the DLT but I only get I/O errors.

Recently, I installed a DLT8000 Autoloader and my 9000 D-class server didn't see it either. HP gave me a list of Patches that I needed. The following is the list plus dependencies. My DLT8000 is working great using tar, cpio and fbackup.

PHCO_23437
PHCO_23844
PHKL_16751
PHKL_16957
PHKL_17858
PHKL_20611
PHKL_21595
PHKL_21661
PHKL_22286
PHKL_23419
PHKL_23612
PHNE_22507

Good luck.
