improper swlist output

hi all ,

when i take swlist for remote systems in hpux
output shows both patch names , new patch
as well as superseded one. This problem
i am getting while running swlist for remote systems
( hpux 11.11) from Hpux 11.0 system.
if any solution is there , let me know

If you telnet or rlogin to the "remote" machine, does the swlist output match?

swlist output doesn't match .
when i take swlist from local
systems it is ok .

What command and options are you using to perform a 'swlist" on the remote system?

Parthiban,

Do this:

swlist -l product @ remotesys >/tmp/remote_swlist

then do a

remsh remotesys swlist -l product >/tmp/remote_remsh

Then "diff" them:

diff -w /tmp/remote_swlist /tmp/remote_remsh

If they are different, it's probably because you have two different versions of ignite. One version on your local machine and a different one on your remote machine.

You can upgrade them both, then they should be quite equal.

Hi,

I've just tried a similar thisng, and although
my output is what it should be there were some
error messages displayed at the beginning such
as:
WARNING: Ignoring unknown keyword "hp_mfg" at line 124

What patch level are you at for both servers?
