    <description>did you have a look in &lt;BR /&gt;var/tmp/swagent.log&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I believe that error message is a default..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try bringing up swinstall interactively.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ie just&lt;BR /&gt;#swinstall&lt;BR /&gt;and select the source yourself&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This will confirm if the depot is good and if swagent is in a good state or if it is simply some command line problem&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Later,&lt;BR /&gt;Bill</description>

      <description>hi all,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am trying to install a patch on my 9000/782/J2240 box (hpux 11.0) with the following command :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true -s /tmp/PHSS_xxxxx.depot&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ans the output is :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;=======  08/01/01 12:57:33 METDST  BEGIN swinstall SESSION&lt;BR /&gt;         (non-interactive)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;       * Session started for user "root@hostname".&lt;BR /&gt;         &lt;BR /&gt;       * Beginning Selection&lt;BR /&gt;       * Target connection succeeded for "hostname:/".&lt;BR /&gt;       * "hostname:/tmp/depot/PHSS_24128.depot":  This source is a tape&lt;BR /&gt;         device.&lt;BR /&gt;       * "hostname:/tmp/depot/PHSS_24128.depot":  Cannot open the logfile&lt;BR /&gt;         on this target or source.       <description>It seems to be trying to take the file from&lt;BR /&gt;/tmp/depot/PHSS_24128.depot&lt;BR /&gt;and not from /tmp/PHSS_24128.depot as you typed.&lt;BR /&gt;Try to create a directory depot in /tmp&lt;BR /&gt;and try again.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Later,&lt;BR /&gt;Bill</description>

      <description>for bill : no probleme with the path (i made a mistake in posting) &lt;BR /&gt;for james : the /etc/hosts is correct and i restartd the swagentd but the probleme steel hapen.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What about the message : This source is a tape device.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I don't understand it.</description>

      <description>Just do "swinstall -s /tmp/PH*depot" without "-x" options and give a try again on swinstall screen.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,</description>
