inetd error while starting the oracle

hi guys,

i running oracle on hp-ux 10.x

while i am starting oracle ( this is started using rc script) it is
giving the following error

inetd : instl_boot/udp:bind address already in use
inetd : instl_boot/udp: service enabled

i tried started using manual script also it gives the following error .

please throw some light on it.

hi,

it looks like one of inetd service is giving problem.

may be bootp service i don't exactly.

please comment it in /etc/inetd.conf
and give
inetd -c

then again start oracle.

This error has nothing to do with oracle.

Unless of course the oracle startup script is trying to boot the machine or obtain IP information from a BIND(DNS) server across the network.

It would be useful to know what version of BIND you are using.
