    <description>Hi guys!&lt;BR /&gt;This is the first time I am at this web-site, and I need some serious help!&lt;BR /&gt;Basically, I have to be able to send e-mail from HP-UNIX using "sendmail". So, first I need to be able to get sendmail to recognize our mailserver. Can anyone please tell how can I accomplish this? Thank you very much!</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You need edit sendmail file&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vi /etc/mail/sendmail.cf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;look for DS flag by typing /^DS&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;put your mail servername infront of DS&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;DSmailservername&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Once the changes has been made&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Restart sendmail by&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/sendmail stop&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/sensmail start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try sending mail by typing sendmail user@domainname.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Goodluck,&lt;BR /&gt;-USA..&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Guys you are geniuses, at least in my eyes!&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you all for responding in such a short time. I found out how to change permissions of the file..."man"...such a helpful function! :-)&lt;BR /&gt;Uday's was the most helpful answer because that was the exact answer, but everyone else also pointed me in right direction. So, You all get lots of points....it's the least I can do for your help!</description>

      <description>Hi Sharvil,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you are logged in into the system as root, you don't have to change the file permission. you can do a "vi file_name" to edit the file and save the file using "w! .This will write the file even if the file permissions are read only. To change the file permission you use the chmod command. To allow the owner to  write to the file, the file permission should be -rw-------&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do a "man chmod" to know more about file permissions and how to modify them.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regds&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
